The disputes that occur in married life are often caused by: either not knowing the foundations on which marriage is based; according to Islamic law, or due to a lack of religious education or one or both spouses doing things that cause harm to the other partner. Therefore, the spouses should know the most important correct components on which married life is based, and we can summarize them as follows:
First - Affection and Love
Married life should be dominated by the spirit of affection, love and purity, because a life without love is meaningless. Affection from the point of view of the Qur’an; is effective love, not that love that floats on the surface like foam. The desired love is the love that strikes its roots deep in the depths, and that appears from the heart to life through actions.
Second: Cooperation and Understanding
The basis of married life is based on cooperation, and each spouse helping the other in an atmosphere of mutual support, and making the utmost efforts; in order to solve problems, and provide the required services. It is true that the husband has his specific function, and the wife also has her specific function, but cooperation and understanding eliminate this division and make each of them a supporter and helper of the other.
3- Good companionship
Marriage is the beginning of a new stage of companionship in which the isolation of the man and woman ends, and a new era of intimacy and familiarity begins between them; as a result, a kind of convergence occurs between the thoughts and visions of the spouses, as well as their orientations and future plans for their life together.
4- Moderation and self-control
The difference in tastes and inclinations between the spouses leads to the emergence of differences and conflicts between them. In fact, we can say that married life that does not witness conflict or clash between the two parties is an imaginary matter far from reality.
Islam recommends that in the event of a family conflict, one of the parties should resort to silence, turn a blind eye to the mistakes of the other party, and deal with him in a way that pleases Allah Almighty and His Messenger (may Allah bless him and his family).
5- Taking into account the partner’s capabilities
The wife must take into account the husband’s capabilities in terms of spending and other things, and not burden the husband with more than he can bear in terms of spending, as the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family) said in this regard: (Any woman who introduces a matter of spending on her husband and burdens him with more than he can bear, Allah will not accept from her any spending or justice, unless she repents and returns and asks him for what he can afford).
