Well, that's one of those quick succinct ideas, but it's also profound and life-changing.
Write down one of the things in your life (and it doesn't have to be something big) that makes you feel unhappy and that you want to change or stop immediately. You can commit to stop smoking, eating less fat, or limiting your arguments and conflicts with someone you love. And to record when and how you will start this particular change.
Then write down one thing (again, it could be something simple), that you can start or do more of that will have a positive impact on your life. You may decide to eat more fruit, walk or exercise more, read more stories, practice relaxation or meditation, be more grateful and appreciative of those around you, tell others you love them, or simply have a good time and laughter.
And start with this small alternative clear specific goal. This will be especially useful if you choose a new activity that fits easily into the time you have been spending on the old activity you want to get rid of. For example, you can choose to go for a walk instead of eating candy, read a book instead of watching TV, and once you find that you have succeeded in changing your behavior, you can try this exercise again and again. It is really useful as a turning point when you feel like your life is in need of a revamp.
