Set Goals for yourself

Goal-setting may seem scarier than it really is. Setting your goals should be both comforting and motivating for you.

You can follow the following tips in order to succeed in the process of setting goals, and to watch your life change for the better:

1. Think about your life and what you would like to be different about it. Select what you want to change. to imagine a happy future; What would you do then that was different from what you do now? More specifically, what will you do more of in the future?

2. Write down exactly what you want to achieve, both in the short term and in the long term. Be as specific as possible. Those who set themselves specific goals are more likely to succeed in achieving them than those who set vague goals.

3. Record your goals using positive terms and expressions. Instead of saying, “Stop getting up late,” set your goal by saying, “My goal is to get up at 8 a.m. every day.” Again, focus on what you want more of in your life, not what you want to limit or eliminate.

4. Make sure your goals are realistic and achievable. If you set unrealistic goals for yourself, you will most likely find that your path is doomed to failure and that you will be frustrated. To make sure you're being realistic, make sure to take all variables into account, including your financial situation, available time, emotional resources, and other life circumstances.

5. Divide your list of goals into long-term goals and short-term goals. And be realistic about how long it may take to achieve your goals. Often, you will need to achieve a number of short-term goals in order to reach the long-term goals. You can think of these short-term goals as the steps you need to climb in order to reach the top of the ladder. Whenever possible, set specific dates or deadlines for achieving each goal.

6. Break each goal into small steps. For example, if your goal is to find a new job, think about the steps you would take to achieve this. You may have to prepare your resume (or update an old one), talk to a recruitment consultant, research the newspapers, and so on. Again, set a specific time to finish each step.

7. When you complete each step, or reach the goal itself, celebrate it by rewarding yourself. It is very important to appreciate and celebrate your achievements. Every step you take is an achievement in itself, and an indication that you are on your way to achieving your goal.

You will be more likely to achieve your goals if they are clear, motivating, realistic, and rooted in your values and priorities. And also to make sure that what you need to do in order to achieve your goals is within your control and authority. If you depend on someone else, you may struggle to make it happen without relying on yourself.

Finally, reward yourself along the way, you don't need to wait until you reach the end.
