What are the characteristics of a gifted child?

Can a teacher identify a gifted child through certain characteristics? If so, what are these characteristics?

Studies and research conducted - when comparing a gifted child with a normal and weak child - have shown that there are familiar characteristics that we expect to be found in a gifted child. These characteristics are:

First: Outperforming a normal child.

Second: A gifted child may be small in stature for his age.

Third: A gifted child may be unsociable.

Fourth: The gifted child may be emotionally unstable.

Fifth: His intelligence may lack what motivates him to be active.

These characteristics may be individual or combined or some of them in one child, but it is preferable to study these characteristics from a general perspective for a group of gifted children instead of one gifted child, given the lack of similarity and similarity in the cases of gifted children.

There are other studies that have shown that the environment plays a role in this area. Children who generally belong to a social and economic level that is above average, such that cases of poverty, divorce, abandonment, separation, and adventure are few or non-existent, there is a greater likelihood that gifted children will be present and emerge from it. It is worth mentioning that some gifted children may come from an environment with a modest economic and social level, which indicates that these characteristics are not limited to one specific environment only, but to another, despite the generality and preponderance of the first over the second.

We find from the first word that was placed before the sentence, which is (may), that it does not indicate the extent of certainty of its correctness, so we cannot say that gifted children in general are smaller in build or less mature in terms of the body compared to normal children. Research conducted in more than one time and place has shown that gifted children are like their normal peers, if they do not surpass them in terms of height, weight, or resistance to diseases. In general, we can say that they are like other children, some of them are strong, some are weak, some are beautiful, and some are ugly.
