The phonology of IndE requires more work on the sound patterns of the many regional varieties of IndE. Intonation has been a more or less neglected field that offers many challenges to researchers. Given the expanse of the country and its immense linguistic variation there is scope for research in almost every branch of the phonology of IndE.
