A secret of communication between parents and children

Here I will share with you a great secret of communication between humans - especially communication between parents and children - which is: communication between humans is divided into verbal communication (with words) and non-verbal communication (with behaviors, actions, gestures, signals, and body language), and that non-verbal communication affects a percentage of (93%) which are divided as follows: (55%) visual communication, and (38%) auditory communication, and verbal communication is only (7%). If we want to apply this rule to the example of smoking, we find that the son is affected by his behaviors. The father smokes (nonverbal communication) by (93%) and is affected by the father’s words and warnings (verbal communication) by (only 7%). Which of the two percentages is greater?!! I leave the answer to you, and that is why I said that the children of smokers are smokers except for rare occasions, and therefore it was necessary for me to emphasize the upbringing of parents before raising their children.

We also notice from clinical observations in psychiatric clinics that a nervous father or a nervous mother tends to have their children become nervous.

We also find that an aggressive father characterizes his children either with excessive passivity as a result of fear and terror, or with excessive aggression as a result of learning this aggressive behavior, or as a reaction to the father’s aggression, and we call it (counter-aggression).

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

We find that an anxious mother transmits her anxiety to her children as if it were an infection... Similarly, in a depressed mother, we notice that her children are introverted and tend toward isolation.

That is why I said to you, dear educator, at the beginning (Tell me who you are... I will tell you who your son will be).

Our children are a reflection of us, and therefore we must first observe our behavior before blaming our children, and we must modify our behavior before modifying our children’s behavior.
