The ability of children and young people to receive lessons varies, as individual variation and diversity appear in the attitudes and inclinations of children. Therefore, our hope for the growth and development of children must be in accordance with these capabilities and inclinations available to them, so that we can thus raise their level of information through guidance and encouragement.
Some parents think that their children must always get the grade of excellence in their lessons. If they sometimes do not obtain the required grade, which is the grade of excellence, the parents meet them with blame and admonition, which leads to their turmoil and complaining. However, this action is not considered sound from a scientific and psychological point of view. If we blame and beat children just because they did not get a high grade in school exams, they will become frightened, disturbed, and live with chronic anxiety. They may adopt unhealthy behavior in order to obtain these grades just to please their parents. They will develop a desire to achieve false ideal goals, and they will always try to find themselves at the pinnacle of success and victory, and therefore we find that they lose the ability to behave properly during the requirements of life, which makes them live in a disturbed psychological state and their personalities are unbalanced.
On the other hand, we must know that not every test is considered a true and acceptable standard for determining the academic ability of juveniles. The method or content of the test may be incorrect, or the physical and psychological conditions of the students are inappropriate during the exam. These and similar factors undoubtedly have a significant impact on the student. While taking the school exam, this test loses some of his time and safety.
We must recognize that every person can gain scientific information to the extent of his ability. If we do not take into account the extent of the individual’s ability, then we cannot expect a miracle from them, or demand beyond their ability and capabilities.
