The "RU Cosmos" Foundation revealed the prototype of the satellite, which Russia is developing in cooperation with Belarus, for remote sensing of the Earth.

According to the available information, the new satellite is designed to provide Earth remote sensing data, and will provide services that will contribute to the social and economic development in Russia and Belarus.

Russia and Belarus are currently cooperating to develop integrated joint systems for remote sensing of the Earth, and they are scheduled to launch their satellite dedicated to this purpose in 2028.

On the subject, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said: "The government will consider all proposals related to the fields of research and development for Earth remote sensing projects... We have started the New Moon project with the Ross Cosmos Foundation and with colleagues from Belarus, and we are all working today on this matter."

The director of the Geographic Information Systems Foundation of the National Academy of Sciences in Belarus, Sergey Zolotoy, had stated that the launch of the Russian-Belarusian satellite for remote sensing of the Earth is supposed to take place in 2028, and that there are plans to speed up the launch date of the aforementioned satellite, but the matter depends on purchasing the required components for the project.
