If you spend a lot of time around groups of guys, you may notice that behavior and manners have changed a bit from when you were younger. The language used is becoming more blunt, and while many teens act respectfully and kindly, others do not automatically show respect for their elders. Adults often comment that they would not have dared act as their children do, but times have changed, or have they changed?
The value of respect
All successful relationships, whether in the family, at school or at work, are built on mutual respect. In an ideal world, children learn respect because they see it in the everyday actions of adults. When parents treat each other, themselves, and their children with respect, children learn to behave in the same way. However, respect is a rare thing in reality. Similar to the rules of behavior and other personality traits, respect must be taught well.
Most types of entertainment programs that both entertain and get the attention of children lack respect. The characters of sitcoms and cartoons talk disrespectfully and everyone laughs. Thus, real children try the same approach since the issue does not cause any trauma. However, respect remains a very appreciated quality, and it becomes especially important when your son leaves your home and has to fit in with other adults in order to build a successful and independent life.
Make sure respect is an essential part of your family's life. Talk about respect often; And make sure that your son has the opportunity to see you in action. Your child will learn so much more when you can practice dignity and respect as a family.
Good behavior
Most parents feel proud and happy when their young son uses words such as ((please)), ((thank you)) and ((excuse me)) and the parents' happiness and joy decreases when the nursery years pass and it becomes clear to them that their children have abandoned their good behavior while imagining their diapers. If you think that good manners and decency are important, make sure that you are the living example of them in the family and that you teach them to its members. Your son will make his own decisions about whether to practice fitness himself, but he's more likely to do so if you set the example he'll follow.
Rowing can sometimes be a challenge for parents of boys, especially during their teenage years. Boys may view blasphemy and rude speech as well as reckless behavior as signs of manhood. The boys feel manly and sophisticated when they let out a barrage of blunt words. You can tell your son that you know he rows with his friends but you'd rather not hear that... and that you don't want him to talk that way to teachers and other adults. Of course, this lesson can be taught more easily if you yourself refrain from using blasphemous phrases.
