The limits of monitoring your child

The scope of your monitoring is very broad, and includes all matters and issues that are related in one way or another to the child’s life. Assume that he is exposed to dangers from all sides. If his physical and psychological safety were exposed to danger, what would you do? The possibilities for your monitoring are broad, and we will present some of them below:

1- Monitoring his nutrition: which starts with breastfeeding him, and later includes food at home and outside. Food is important to him and has a profound impact on his psychology, morals, and physical and mental development. How many diseases are the result of malnutrition, and how many mental disorders are the result of malnutrition. The food must be good and delicious, and also halal, and this is one side of the issue. The other side must be proportionate to the child’s growth, and there must be serious monitoring in this area, especially in adolescence and adulthood. Protein materials, sweets, spices, seasonings must be reduced in order to save the child from many problems and calamities.

2- Moral monitoring: Monitor the child’s morals so that he does not drift into deviation, and so that others do not deviate him. Pay attention to what he learns and studies, and who are his role models? What places does he go to? What is the impact of the family environment and relatives on him? What are the beautiful or ugly vocabulary words that he has learned and used?

This monitoring must begin from the first months and years of his life until he becomes accustomed to its controls on the one hand, and until the things he receives take hold on the other hand. As for those who postpone raising children morally and leave the child alone, they are, in fact, wronging the child and wronging themselves at the same time. Because this control and control is not only necessary for children, but it is also necessary for young people and teenagers, because they are exposed to danger and attention must be paid to that.

3- Physical monitoring: Your son is a child, and therefore he is vulnerable to many afflictions, such as a high body temperature or contracting an infectious disease that causes harm to him, the effects of which are difficult to avoid in the future. Childhood diseases, especially in the first three years of a child’s life, have a major and fateful impact on him. An increase in his body temperature above the normal limit may cause diseases that result in a decline or slowdown in the level of mental ability and intelligence, as these symptoms remain with the child until The end of his life.

Also, the child’s negligence in wearing the appropriate clothing leads to his suffering with undesirable consequences. This is because the child is not at a level and position that qualifies him to pay attention to himself and control it in the best way, so he fails to wear winter clothing or anything else, which causes Physical harm to him.

4- Monitoring thoughts and mental inputs: The media, through their programs, direct children’s thoughts and establish a certain idea or ideas in them. Children are sensitive viewers and are easily influenced by films, radio, and television. It is not known whether what is presented to them is appropriate for their age or not, and sometimes the program may be prepared for adults only. Likewise, even the program nominally prepared for children and young people must be monitored. The same applies to books prepared for children. It is not known whether they are appropriate for the age of children or not, and there are many books that cultivate deviation and rob children of abilities and creativity.

5 - Emotional monitoring: This includes love, protection, acceptance, etc., and refraining from exaggeration and negligence in this matter... Attention is rarely given to an important point, which is monitoring emotional education and preserving aspects of the child’s feelings, so that the child is not exposed to exciting or very moving scenes. Or frightening and violent, and it hurts his emotions and feelings. Seeing violent scenes that include beating, bloodshed, killing, violence, etc. paves the way for cruelty and emotional deviation in him, and the mother must stay away and the child avoid that through her continuous monitoring and supervision.

6 - Monitoring psychological safety: Attention to protection and psychological safety has increased these days more than care for physical health, and now there is a trend towards increasing and expanding interest in this type of health, and providing conditions and possibilities that make the child feel safe, secure and reassured in this regard.

Psychological symptoms present in some children, such as hypocrisy, lack of a sense of responsibility, lack of will, disobedience, stubbornness, failure to accept help when necessary, chaos in relationships, excessive love of appearances, lack of cooperation when necessary, etc., all of which result from a lack of psychological safety in the child.

7- Academic monitoring: Do not be comfortable just because the child goes to school. Rather, pay close attention to the issues of the school, the teacher, and the lesson, and know where your child is? Who is his teacher? Who is the manager, organizer and mentor? What is their view and opinion about your son? How is his academic status? Does he perform his duties optimally? Aren't you late in studying? This topic is of great importance in the primary school years because it is the foundation stage, and this matter is extremely important in the adolescence stage, as it is a stage of intellectual and emotional turmoil, a stage of change and transformation, and your neglect of your children and the leniency of the school and teacher towards them may lead to many bad effects, from Such as: academic failure and lack of success in life.

8 - Monitoring his security and protection: Ultimately, your child needs protection and security until he grows up and in some cases, as a result of the absence of a father, the child may not feel safe, or that he does not enjoy protection when necessary. Uproot these thoughts from his head, and make him understand that he is not alone. You are his protector, and society and its officials protect him as long as he does not abuse this protection.

He is not forced to endure beatings from anyone, nor to surrender to the abuse of those who have no manners or morals. The mother is directly responsible for him, and she is the one who limits and prevents a lot of disturbance, deprivation, and disagreements with others with him. Prove to him that with this confidence and protection he can continue his path forward with full force.
