The young man is entrusted with seizing the opportunity for young people to benefit from the values of life and to secure his material and moral happiness, and he must also invest his energy, according to accurate calculations, in performing the duties stipulated in the educational programs organized by educators, in order to provide ways for his personality to rise and grow from all sides.
The young man should also take into consideration that any excess or negligence will affect his happiness and prevent him from achieving the perfection that befits him, and this is what religion and science agree on together.
Just as inactivity and laziness in performing homework on the part of a young student is considered a bad and reprehensible act, so stress in studying and overloading the body is considered a bad and harmful act. Just as negligence and inaction in work lead the young worker to backwardness and deprivation, so his excessive work, eagerness and greed are reprehensible and rejected.
Avoid overdoing things:
In any case, the young man who desires to invest in the legitimate values of life should observe moderation in his affairs, and avoid excessiveness and negligence in his acts of worship and work, when he is resting and exercising, and he should perform every work according to sound measures.
Our imams (peace be upon them) gave this point great attention within their educational programs, as they called upon to avoid excess and negligence as well as leniency and inaction in performing all scientific, practical, worship, economic, material and moral duties, and many Quranic verses and narrations have been mentioned in this field. We will suffice with referring to two accounts:
We conclude from our research that if educators work with their responsibilities and organize their educational curricula for the young generation on the basis of a balance between all values, taking into account the energies and capabilities of young people, as well as if young people work with their responsibilities and take into account educational programs with all desire away from excess, negligence, indulgence and indifference, the results will be fruitful It will be waiting for young people who will secure the means of their material and moral happiness, and succeed in forming a complete personality for themselves from all sides.
Knowledge, faith, ethics, freedom, conscience, beauty, self-love, money, pleasure, work, fame, politics, sports and the like are all things of value in human life. Achieving any of these values would inspire joy and happiness in the hearts of boys and young men, and positively affect the growth of their personality, provided that they do not go beyond the limits of moderation and interest.
