It has been 27 years since the tyrant of the century (Saddam Hussein) attacked the two shrine of Karbala in 1991 - also known as the Sha'baniya. If one was to compare between the two era, he/she will defiantly find the obvious difference and the transformation from a time of destruction to the time known as the golden era. This was only able through the mercy of Allah and the guidance of the supreme religious authority in Najaf which enabled hundreds of projects in various fields. 

The picture shown below illustrate the barbaric attack that struck the holy sites of Karbala by the Baathist regime which nearly destroyed the shrines and killed everyone that took refuge inside them.
