high prices

One day a man went to Al-Imam Ali (peace be upon him), complaining about the prices of the meat and fish in the market.
Al-Imam (peace be upon him) said: "leave the food for them"

The man replied: "How do we leave it for them, we don't have it... so how to leave it?"

Al-Imam (peace be upon him) said: "Leave it, and don't buy it, this is how the shop owners are going to reduce the prices"

This was the solution to the high prices in the markets and still is in many countries.
