Simple preposition
Definition with Examples :
Simple prepositions are the short words used to determine a relation between nouns, pronouns or even to join parts of a clause or sentence. Some examples of simple preposition are- on, over, at, under, by etc. We will form simple sentences using these prepositions to better understand their use.
.He was sleeping on the floor.
.She over stayed in the hotel.
.The Golden temple is at Amritsar.
.He took rest under a tree.
.His house is just by the next street.
In the above sentences-on, over, at, behind, by are the simple prepositions. In the first sentence ‘on’ provides the location where the person is sleeping. In the second sentence ‘over’ indicates the duration of her stay and the third provides the location of Golden Temple. Likewise we may be using many prepositions in our daily conversations without even realizing it. Now try forming other sentences on your own using simple prepositions.
