Narrative pivot point
Within the framework of the three tests (qualifying, decisive and glorifying) the narrative pivot point can be considered as the moment of confrontation between a subject and an anti-subject. This confrontation will lead to the domination or victory of one of the protagonists which in turn will determine who possesses the object of value. The narrative pivot point in Treasure Island is the battle between Long John Silver and his treacherous crew, who are rivals of the hero in the search for the gold.
The narrative pivot point can only be determined by reading backwards following a line of presupposition. A hierarchy of narrative programs is thus established. Narrative programs is thus established.
